MARGARET HOWELL
LIFE AND WORK

'Good design is thoughtful and works well in everyday life.' – Margaret Howell

Introducing a new book, published by SHUEISHA Inc., that explores the enduring influences and themes that have shaped Margaret’s personal and professional life.

Featuring new photography, interviews and previously unseen personal archival material, Margaret Howell Life and Work documents the relationship between family, daily life and making, and how they continue to inform her distinctive approach to both design and living.

Margaret Howell Life and Work traces the origins of the fabrics and silhouettes that have defined each collection, exploring why they continue to be referenced. It visits our London Workroom shirt-making facility and longstanding fabric supplier Fox Brothers of
Somerset, while also exploring the interiors, objects, archive material and practical aspects of Margaret’s work.
