HELD BY LIGHT
A short film by Matteo Del Maestro

In spring this year, we received an email from filmmaker Matteo Del Maestro about a project that he was developing. 

Matteo’s intention ‘was to create a film that focuses on interaction – interaction of the dancer to the environment, nature to the city, light to shadow, and clothing to movement.’ His request was simple – would we allow him to use pieces from the AW25 MHL. collection?

When Matteo recently sent the final version of his film – HELD BY LIGHT – we felt it truly captured his original vision. Through the fluidity and grace of English National Ballet soloist Erik Woolhouse, the clothes have been given life and movement rarely interpreted in such a creative way.
