130th anniversary limited-edition prints

To mark 130 years of The Architectural Review, Margaret Howell has personally selected five magazine covers from the AR archive, available to purchase as limited-edition fine art prints.

Margaret’s selection of covers was chosen from the AR’s archive of more than 1,500 issues, and includes artwork based on works by Le Corbusier and Kazimir Malevich, among others.

From a microphotograph of a smoke particle to the fishermen’s sheds in Hastings, the chosen covers illustrate a tradition of striking and idiosyncratic covers that the AR continues to this day.

‘After our exhibition of AR covers in 2023, it was a pleasure to be asked to make another selection to celebrate the magazine’s 130th anniversary. What appeals to me about these covers is how striking they are. I am attracted to the unexpected, abstract nature of the imagery in the five that I have chosen’ – MARGARET HOWELL

Each giclée print is produced in a limited edition of 200 and printed on matt, natural white, 350gsm Hahnemühle Museum Etching paper. The print also features a debossed AR monogram alongside handwritten edition numbering.
